JD Racing – The Transformation Begins…

I thought we should share with you how Joe has transformed his MG ZR for this season.  As you can see from the before and after pictures it has had quite a lot of work carried out on it since his last season.

Set 1 – Before the refurbishment

Set 2 – Before the refurbishment

The MyAlloys Team of course worked on his wheels, they were treated to a full refurbishment transforming them from white to a high gloss black finish.

Joseph dropped off 3 sets of wheels – 2 standard and 1 for wet set.

We started by removing the existing tyres and weights and putting the wheels through our chemical stripping tanks.  Once stripped the wheels were washed and shot blasted to remove any remaining coatings.

After being stripped and shot blasted the wheels are prepared for the powder coating process.

We went for a Black Gloss finish on all 3 sets of wheels.

Wheels ready for tyres

Any damage was then repaired by the prepping team before moving over to the paint room to be black primed and over coated in an acrylic powder coated lacquer.

To update the look of the car we went for a nice high gloss black finish and added some personalised decals in red to match our logo and complete the look.

Finally the tyres were refitted and the wheels were balanced ready to race.

The finished result!

Wheel Alignment

Joe also brought the MG in to see us at our unit in Basingstoke where we preformed a full specialised 4 wheel alignment, making sure the vehicle was ready to hit the track.

Joseph had requested a specific race set up to suit his own personal preference.  The complicated adjustments using shims took about 2.5 hours to complete and was carried out by our trained wheel technician Mark on the Hunter Elite TD wheel alignment machine.
